With all the insecure hogwash that has infected the minds of truly inspiring writers I have a writing prompt for you all!

Ahh there is what I need to ignore!
I want you all to write a story about a young boy/girl that was raised by foster parents living a mundane simple life and when they “came of age” they discovered they had magical powers and entered a world of magical beings and stuff, which will require the presence of elves, faeries, dwarfs, ogres, orc’s, dragons (With Scales!), Umm, and pretty much anything else you can pull from the Monster Manual.(which is copy left)
They discover they are The (chosen) One with the ability to speak with dragons, or some other mystical beast and also the fate of their magical fairy world is dependent on the young Main Character overcoming the Evil forces and powers of the Dark Wizard – call him Skeletor for lack of a better name on my part.
And that the evil wizard can only be truly defeated by destroying the Wizard and their magical artifact which needs to be thrown into some magical pool or well where it will be destroyed.
Why did I put this up?
Because even though I hear all the time that this is “Wrong, Wrong, Wrong” the authors that HAVE written books with these elements have done everything from being one of the richest authors ever, to having their books made into movies, games and a slew of other things.
Sure, it is Cliche, but so what?
This is one of the classic tales told, the peasant child becoming king (or something). Let that story inspire you and tell all the half bitter lip flappers that have nothing good to add and make you feel insecure about clichés that they can go stuff it.
After all, who’s writing your story?
You or them?
Truly I say to you. Take this Cliché ridden prompt and -
Write Fearlessly!
Take pride in all you do! Loosing some races does not mean the game is over! Keep running no matter what!
